The Meal - Short Film
This short film was my take on making cooking feel intense. Inspired by Ratatouille and other dramatic kitchen flicks, I treated every step boiling, chopping, seasoning like it was life or death. The music builds, the pressure rises, and just when it all comes together... the guy doesn’t even eat it. That anticlimax? That’s the joke. And it still cracks me up.
Pre-Production
Starting our project, we made a simple plan for ourselves. Throughout the process, we discussed ideas until we narrowed it down to one single vision.
Draft Video
Before we started filming, I decided to pick out the music beforehand and plan accordingly. I was able to structure the entire video using text and screenshots to visualize how I wanted it to look. This played a huge role in helping me create the video I envisioned, because everything was already planned in advance.
